Citebility / Cookie Policy

Cookie Policy

Last updated:

Citebility uses only essential cookies. They are required to run the scan, to sign you in, and to process payments securely. We do not place tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies, and we do not share data with ad networks.

Which cookies do we use?

Cookie / storagePurposeRetention
Supabase authSign-in session and authentication for customers with an account.Session + refresh token (max. 1 year)
Stripe checkoutSecure payment flow (fraud detection, session binding).Session (max. 24 hours)
Local storage (localStorage)Remembers whether you have seen our cookie notice (key: citebility-cookies-acknowledged).Until you clear browser storage

Why no consent banner?

Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (article 11.7a) and the GDPR, consent is only required for non-essential cookies such as analytics, profiling, or advertising. Citebility does not set any of those, so a full "accept / reject" consent banner is not required. We still show this page and a one-time disclosure notice so you know what gets stored.

Managing or deleting cookies

You can always clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Note: if you block the Supabase or Stripe cookies, you will not be able to sign in or complete a paid report.

Will this policy change?

If we ever add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will first show a real consent banner with accept and reject as equally weighted options. We will also update this page and the "last updated" date.
